The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a lineage society devoted to preserving history, fostering patriotism, and promoting education. The work of the Society is largely carried out by its nearly 3000 chapters. To become a member of the NSDAR, a woman must prove blood descent from a person who rendered patriotic service during the American Revolution, and she must be at least 18 years old.  Admission to membership in the NSDAR is by invitation through a Chapter in the State Organization or Unit Overseas.
